Kambo is a powerful detoxification practice originally used by ancient Amazonian tribes. It involves the secretion of the giant tree frog, Phyllomedusa Bicolor, which inhabits the upper regions of the Amazon rainforest. Indigenous peoples use this secretion to strength en their bodies and minds, enhance immunity, heal various ailments, and even improve their hunting abilities. They also believe that Kambo helps to dispel panema, a negative energy.
The secretion is collected with care and respect for the frogs. At dawn, tribes perform traditional frog songs while carefully harvesting the secretion. The frogs, which are passive and unharmed, are gently tied in an X shape before their secretion is scraped and dried on bamboo sticks. This respectful method ensures harmony with the spirits of nature, a deeply held belief among the tribes.
What is Kambo USED FOR ?
The use of Kambo varies among tribes. They believe that Kambo enhances speed and energy during hunts, and that it makes the hunter invisible by temporarily neutralizing their human scent.
It is also used in many ways for medical purposes, including treating malaria, snake bites, fever, infections, fertility issues, and to cleanse, detoxify, and strengthen the mind and body, increase energy and endurance, and reduce pain.
